Frequently Asked Questions
Gameplay
I'm stuck — what do I do?
Check your Leads in the Notebook tab. Leads are added automatically as you investigate and point you to exactly what to follow up on next. Tap any lead to jump straight to it. You can also use the Get Help button on the Investigation Board for a progressive hint.
What are hotspots?
Hotspots are hidden discovery points on images — look for pulsing circles and tap them to uncover evidence buried inside. Some hotspots reveal evidence locked with a combination code. Find the code hidden somewhere in the case to unlock it.
What does pinning evidence do?
Pinning adds an evidence card to your Investigation Board so it's always at hand. Use it to keep your key clues visible while you work through a theory.
What is a character "reveal"?
A reveal is a fact about a character that unlocks automatically as you gather more evidence. You don't need to do anything — just keep investigating and more will surface.
Can I replay a case?
Yes. After completing a case, tap Play Again from the Case Library. Your previous playthrough is saved separately so you can compare notes.
How long does a case take?
It depends on how thoroughly you investigate and whether you're playing solo or with a group. Most players take 60–90 minutes. There are no timers — play entirely at your own pace.
Can I play with friends?
Yes — Solve The Crime works great as a group activity. Pass the phone around or prop it up and discuss theories together. The game is designed for 1–6 players on a single device.
Purchases & Access
Which cases are free?
Case 002: The Empty Frame is included free with the app. Case 001 and Case 003 are available as in-app purchases.
I bought a case but it's showing as locked on a new device — what do I do?
Tap Restore Purchases in the Case Library. This re-checks your purchase history with Apple or Google and unlocks any cases you've already paid for.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Refund requests must be made directly to them — we don't process payments and have no access to your payment information.
Technical
Does the game need an internet connection?
No. Solve The Crime is entirely offline once downloaded. All case content is bundled with the app — no server, no account, no connection required.
How do I delete my data?
Go to Privacy Policy inside the app (via the Case Library footer) and use the Delete All My Data button. This permanently removes all game progress stored on your device.
